Hey guys,

I'm bidding on a Cane's autographed puck on ebay, the problem is the seller doesnt know who autographed it, as the puck was given to him by someone else. I've tried pulling up as many pictures of autographed cards and pictures as I can trying to identify it. I believe it to be autographed by Arturs Irbe, but i'm not sure. The first two "loops" and the "spike" (like a lower case i) appear to be similar to cards of his I've seen autographed, but i'm not sure about the second half of the sig. Also, theres a line in the white part under the logo that could be a "1" or it could just be a random line. I dont mind paying only 2$ for it even if I dont know who signed it, but I've been trying to figure it out. Some other players I think it might be include Ray Whitney and Radim Vrbata, but both of those would be a stretch.

It doesnt look like any of the autographs I have on my 06 champs sign, so its an older puck. Its not anyone like Staal, Rod, Cole, Francis etc.

Canes Auto Puck

Thanks for looking.

it might be glen wesley.. not too sure tho

No idea. Seeing as how you said none of the signatures match your signatures and that it's a pre-lockout puck, I'd look for some autographed stuff from maybe O'Neill, Hill, Kapanen, etc. to compare it to. Not saying that the signature belongs to any of them, but they were popular players pre-lockout, so I'd put my money on them.

I think Glen Wesley too.

That auto looks a lot like my autographed Wesley litho.

I'm not sure if I looked at wesley, so I'll look that up.. if it is wesley that would be awesome. At first I thought Oneill, since if you turn it upside down (say guy selling it has it positioned wrong - It does look like a J and then i L L... but it doesnt look like other Oneill auto's i've seen.

Its not Kapanen, I have a Kapenen stick, and his auto is actually his name instead of random squiggles (i.e. you can read it).

I found a Wesley card and I think the puck is Wesley. That makes me pretty happy.. I wouldnt have been too upset if it was a minor league guy like brookbank or something but Wesley is a good one.

Thanks!

Another vote for Wesley. While the first part of the signature is a garble, the swirlled flourish at the end is almost an exact match to a Wesley autograph I have.

Thanks guys.. I think we have it nailed down. I kept seeing the Y at the end too which is what made me originally think of guys like Ray Whitney... Sometimes it so hard to tell when it curves around the edge of the puck like that.. sometimes its easier if they just scrawl across the whole thing, logo or no.

Some older cards of his he signed out his name like "Glen Wesley 26" but I saw a newer card from like 2003 that looked nearly identical to the puck. Maybe I need to bump up my max bid now and make sure I get it.

Thanks for the help!
